StrikeMaster solves the core problem every scrap collector faces: uncertainty. You find a piece of metal at a demolition site, but is it stainless or nickel-plated steel? The yard is 40 kilometers away - will the fuel cost eat your profit? You strip 20 meters of cable only to realize selling it whole would have been smarter.
The app gives you three interconnected systems. The Scrap Log is your field notebook: tap to add an entry, select metal type from horizontal pills, enter weight with unit selector, choose grade, attach a photo, note the source. Each entry stores your find with timestamp and optional location so you can return to productive sources.
The Metal Lab puts identification science in your pocket. The density calculator implements the Archimedes water displacement method: weigh dry, weigh submerged, get density in grams per cubic centimeter and a reference table showing copper at 8.96, aluminum at 2.70, brass at 8.50. The magnet test walks you through yes-no questions to narrow ferrous versus non-ferrous. The spark test guide shows you exact spark patterns: carbon steel produces yellow-white streams 60-70 inches long with many forks, stainless gives short orange-red sparks 20-30 inches, cast iron creates small repetitive red bursts near the wheel.
Add entries with weight in kilograms, pounds or tons using the unit selector. Choose metal type from horizontal scrollable pills: Copper, Aluminum, Brass, Ferrous, Stainless. Select grade: A1, Mix, Shine, Dirty, Insulated. Attach photos from camera or library. Note the source like "garage demolition" or "HVAC teardown" so you can track productive locations. View history as cards with metal type indicator, weight, and thumbnail. Filter by date range or metal type.
Four identification tools in one tab. Density Calculator: enter dry weight and weight in water, tap Calculate Density, see result compared to reference table with copper, aluminum, brass, iron, stainless, lead, zinc, nickel, tin, titanium. Magnet Test: step-by-step yes/no questions narrow down ferrous versus non-ferrous and suggest likely match. Spark Test Guide: visual cards show spark color, length, pattern with descriptions for carbon steel, stainless, cast iron, and more. Encyclopedia: metal database with density, melting point, color, magnetism, common sources, price range.
Price Estimator: enter weight and price per kilogram, see revenue instantly. Save yard price presets for fast input. Multi-metal batch calculator: mix copper, aluminum, brass in one load, enter weights and prices, get total revenue. Trip Cost: enter one-way distance in kilometers, adjust fuel consumption slider in liters per 100km, input fuel price per liter and expected revenue. The app calculates round-trip fuel cost and net profit so you know if the trip is worth it before you drive.
Compare selling cable as-is versus stripping insulation. Enter cable weight, insulated copper price, bare copper price after stripping, and time required in minutes. The advisor shows revenue for each option and profit per hour for stripping. Two sliders let you adjust cable diameter in millimeters and insulation thickness. Live calculation shows copper content percentage, copper weight in grams, and net copper weight after insulation removal.
Choose shape: pipe, box, cylinder, plate. Enter dimensions in centimeters: outer diameter, inner diameter for pipes; length, width, height for boxes. Select metal type from dropdown. The calculator applies density formulas and returns weight in kilograms. Use this when you need to estimate weight of structural pieces before cutting or when negotiating pickup of large items where weight determines value.
Revenue Stats screen shows total earnings, total weight collected, and average price per kilogram as metric cards. Bar chart displays monthly revenue trends. Metal distribution chart shows how much copper, aluminum, brass, steel, and other types you have logged. Set monthly goals with progress tracker. Export to PDF generates full report: all entries with date, metal type, weight, grade, source, and calculated revenue. Save reports for tax records or share with business partners.
